Full-time Staff

Bruce Peterson has been Executive Director since the Fall of 1977. Growing up at Park Avenue Covenant, going to Covenant Pines as a camper, working at camp during college years and meeting his wife there when both were summer staff lifeguards, have shown his lifelong connection to Covenant Pines. Prior to coming to Covenant Pines he was a math and science teacher in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, and a volunteer youth leader at First Baptist Church in St Cloud. Bruce is married to Rosey and they have two sons, Chris and Mark. Currently Bruce has an office in Roseville, working closer to the owner churches. Rosey teaches at Minnehaha Academy.

Jon Lokhorst joined the staff as Camp Director in May 2010.  Jon grew up at Redeemer Covenant and served in a variety of leadership roles at Maple Grove Covenant.  Jon was a CPA in private practice for 17-1/2 years prior to joining the ministry world as CFO at YouthWorks in 2001.  He was the Development Director at Hume Lake Christian Camps in California prior to returning to Minnesota to join us at Covenant Pines.  He and his wife Barb have three children, Rob, Kendra and TJ.
 

Lindsay Johnson started as camp's Program Director in August of 2009. Previously she'd worked as a Youth Ministry Intern at Excelsior Covenant. Before that she had been a summer counselor at CPBC. Lindsay is a University of Wisconsin graduate in Business, and currently is pursuing a Masters of Divinity at Bethel Seminary. She married Jerod Johnson in June of 2009 and they both desire to serve God and guests at camp year round.

Warren Packer serves as Director of Maintenance. He began working at camp in the Fall of 1992. Warren is a native of the McGregor community growing up in the Aitkin area. Warren has worked in the construction field doing everything from a carpenter, welder, mechanic, machinist, to handyman. He is married to Barb, also a native of the area and they have three sons; Jami, Jarod and Jori.

Kathy Bergstrom, Office Administrator, came to Covenant Pines in 2000 from First Covenant Church in Minneapolis where she served for 14 years as Administrative Assistant. She grew up going to Covenant Pines as a camper, her daughter Karna spent two summers on staff and her son Eric went to camp here as a youth.

James Mace, Executive Chef, is our resident Canadian.  Jim has a vast culinary resume and has led kitchens for both fine dining restaurants and camps.  Jim and his wife Betti have a daughter Sara.

Chris Proctor, Ministry Staff/Sous Chef

Chris began working at camp as a dishwasher while going to highschool in McGregor. He spent a summer working in the kitchen, then went to LeCodon Bleu for training as a chef.

Denise Weimer has been doing housekeeping work at Covenant Pines since February 2006. She is originally from Warba, MN. Denise has been married for thirteen years and has a ten year old daughter and a seventeen year old son. She enjoys the outdoors and loves animals, flowers, and gardening.

Sue Rahn joined the Covenant Pines housekeeping staff in September 2006. She grew up in the Palisade area. Sue has three grown children and two grandchildren. Her hobbies include fishing, reading, and gardening.
