Full-time Staff

Bruce Peterson has been Executive Director since the Fall of 1977. Growing up at Park Avenue Covenant, going to Covenant Pines as a camper, working at camp during college years and meeting his wife there when both were summer staff lifeguards, have shown his lifelong connection to Covenant Pines. Prior to coming to Covenant Pines he was a math and science teacher in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, and a volunteer youth leader at First Baptist Church in St Cloud. Bruce is married to Rosey and they have two sons, Chris and Mark. Currently Bruce has an office in Roseville, working closer to the owner churches. Rosey teaches at Minnehaha Academy.

Josh Rude started as the Camp Director in June of 2006 and is married to Natalie. Just before coming to Covenant Pines, Josh received a Master of Divinity from North Park Seminary and a Masters of Management from North Park University.  He was ordained through the Evangelical Covenant Church in June 2008.  He and Natalie enjoy canoeing in the Boundary Waters, skiing and hunting with their dog, Toivo.

Nick Youngberg has been the Program Director since the Spring of 2005. He grew up at Faith Covenant Church in Burnsville and attended Covenant Pines each summer as a camper. He worked on summer staff for five summers on the waterfront staff and graduated from Bemidji State University with an elementary education degree.

Warren Packer serves as Director of Maintenance. He began working at camp in the Fall of 1992. Warren is a native of the McGregor community growing up in the Aitkin area. Warren has worked in the construction field doing everything from a carpenter, welder, mechanic, machinist, to handyman. He is married to Barb, also a native of the area and they have three sons; Jamie, Jared and Jorie.

Kathy Bergstrom, Office Administrator, came to Covenant Pines in 2000 from First Covenant Church in Minneapolis where she served for 14 years as Administrative Assistant. She grew up going to Covenant Pines as a camper, her daughter Karna spent two summers on staff and her son Eric went to camp here as a youth.

Suzanne Fredrickson began working in the kitchen in 2003. She lives just down the road from camp.

Denise Weimer has been doing housekeeping work at Covenant Pines since February 2006. She is originally from Warba, MN. Denise has been married for thirteen years and has a ten year old daughter and a seventeen year old son. She enjoys the outdoors and loves animals, flowers, and gardening.

Sue Rahn joined the Covenant Pines housekeeping staff in September 2006. She grew up in the Palisade area. Sue has three grown children and two grandchildren. Her hobbies include fishing, reading, and gardening.
